SpeechlessSpeechless I was touring Chicago one weekend with a few friends of mine, just walking around the town and taking in the sights on a balmy July day. I usually keep an eye out for interesting graffitti because it can be so interesting. While waiting to cross at a light, I noticed this scene on the lamppost. I only had about 20 seconds to get my settings right (I chose to use aperature priority mode because I didn't have time for manual), compose, and take the shot, so it was challengng and excitng to work under a little pressure. I chose use a wide aperture and focused directly on the sticker. To me, this photo is somewhat ironic. After doing some research, the person on the sticker, Gilbere Forte, is a music artist of some reknown. It seems ironic then that his mouth is the part of the sticker that is destroyed, almost as if he is being silenced for some reason. Also interesting is the Anarchy symbol to the left under the sticker...I don't know quite what to make of that! Comments
